Doesnt India and many other countries from Asia for example have their entire culture and way of living centered on a patriachial scheme? I hate to argue on basis of examples, but women fasting for their sons on Prathamasthami, for their husbands on Karva Chaut and for brothers on Bhai Dooj. Its only the women who are expected to cover their faces with an odhani in the joint families. So, as an Indian, should I be proud, as we are always of our rich culture or condemn it for being gender biased?
