Bolloré Group selects Indianapolis for first replication of its successful Paris program outside of France · Indianapolis car share program will feature o 500 all-electric cars, which would be largest all-electric system in US § San Diego has 300 electric vehicles o 1,200 charging stations at 200 locations around the city o Create 100 jobs to manage system and provide 24/7 customer service o Electric vehicle owners can use these chargers for a small membership fee o System expects to be operational next spring Bolloré will model Indy program after its successful Paris car share system, Autolib · Autolib features 1,800 all-electric cars, 4,200 charging stations and 37,000 members · Future expansion plans could grow system to 3,000 – 5,000 cars · Autolib expects to turn a profit next year, two years ahead of schedule Bolloré Group is one of the 500 largest companies in the world · Founded in 1822 · Diverse portfolio of global business operations including in transportation and logistics, communication and media, electricity storage and solutions · Company employs over 38,000 people worldwide · 2012 revenues in excess of $13 billion Indy all-electric car share is affordable and easy to use · People can sign up for daily, weekly, monthly or annual memberships · Members can reserve vehicle online or at a sidewalk rental kiosk, swipe their membership card, the car will unlock and direct them to the nearest charging station at their destination · At your destination, plug-in the vehicle and the rental stops · Repeat the process for the next leg of your trip · Cars do not have to be returned to the same location as first rented. Since they are electric, you don’t have to fill them with the same amount of gas it contained when you rented it. No need to have outside insurance · Indy rates have not been established yet. In Paris, membership costs around $16 per month and 20-minute trip costs about $4.50
