Companies like samsung build their User Interface upon Android which make your devices to behave slower but samsung doest bother since they hv chance to feed in their softwares( samsung based) Why Cyanogenmod? This AOSP is super fast and once you install it onto your devices you will never wanted to use samsung UI( user interface). You will experience your device to work ultra smooth plus super fast without any lag. I have simplified the long process but it worth and you deserve better software rather than pre-installed by Samsung/Sony/Oppo/LG/Nexus/ETC. You deserve it because this is free. You can trust me on this: Steps are stated below: How to Root your Phone.Galaxy S4 I9500 Running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat Official Firmware. 1. Install Kies Latest kies. ( this is done to get Samsung phone driver only- so Odin will recognise your device. ) 2. Install Odin V3.07 on your window PC. 3. Plug in original connector cable . 4. Open Odin 3.07 as Administrator on PC . 5. Switch phone to recovery download mode by pressing Power+Menu+Volume Down button. 6. Once phone in recover mode , plug in the connector to PC and phone. 7. After plug in Phone On Odin window >> ID Com box will turn light blue( phone connected- if not remove kies reboot pc and reinstall kies and repeat above process). 8. Untick re-partition box. 9. Click PDA box and will ask for CF AUTO ROOT (ja3gxx gti9500.tar.md5) File. ( extract first) 10. Click Start button. PASS message will appear and phone will reboot. 11. After Phone reboots automatically . install SuperSU ( by Chainfire) app to confirm your phone been rooted. 12. Super user access will be given to Super SU. How to install CLOCKWORK RECOVERY ON YOUR PHONE (i9500). 1. OPEN Odin and plug phone in recovery mode onto cable /PC 2. ID com port will turn blue. 3. CLICK PDA and Click saved CF root package ( GT-I9500-cwm-6.0.4.6.tar) which is the latest version. 4. Click Start and after installing phone will reboot as usual. How to Flash with CM11 rom. 1. Download CM11 latest from download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=i9500. 2. Download GAPPS from KITKAT wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps 3. Both downloaded files to be copied on sd card or phone memory ( without extracting leave it in zip folder) 4. Off phone and start phone on CWRecovery mode power+menu+ volume up button. 5. CWM : select wipe data/factory reset then select yes. 6. WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition) 7. Install ROM which you download from CM11 8. Install ROM of GApps . 9.
