Information About Advocate I had my daughter tested last summer since the school would not out her on an IEP the results came back and she does have a learnibg disorder. She is in 10th grade and still struggling with the IEP, she is not passing math and is in danger of getting kept back. I requested that she goes into a special math class next year. I was told she doesnt seem to be showing effort so the guidance counselor may not recommend this. I was told I should get an advocate since she is not really getting any extra help and noone from the sped dept seems to be monitoring her work. How lobg dies itvtake tobget an advocate and ehat is the price range I live in Massachusetts. She wants to quit school I have a math tutor come to help her. She struggles in every class she has comprehension issues and processing issues. I feel bad for her she is feelibg defeated, she was kept back half the year this year to make math up from last year but she passed that and was promoted.
