Initiative There might be some of us who arent determining initiative correctly. We should all know that if you have initiative, you move your ships first and your ships fire first in the case of multiple ships having the same pilot skill. But, how do you determine who has initiative? This is where I think some players might be mixing rules up. There are 2 different rules to determine initiative, depending on if youre playing a friendly game or playing a tournament game. Friendly Game - Initiative Goes To: The player with the lowest squad point total. If tied, the Imperial player has the initiative. Tournament Game - Initiative Goes To: The player with the lowest squad point total. If tied, initiative is determined by a coin toss. In a tournament, the Imperial player does NOT have initiative by default if squad points are equal and fighting a Rebel opponent. It would be determined by a coin toss (or whatever method the players agree on).
