Interest times in our country; Constitution (Amendment) Bill passed in the Lower House, Budget day announced and debate on the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Bill still pending. This is a very critical pre-election year, lets remain mindful that our politicians are masters of propaganda and distraction, especially during silly season. Given the stakes at the moment, can we really expect any debate on Constitutional Reform or Budget to be genuinely focused on the best interest of the people or country at this time? There are so many matters of national significance to be addressed, what will be prioritized by both the Governing Party and Opposition during this year are matters in favour of their respective parties. Its therefore up to Civil Society to ensure focus, objectivity, transparency and accountability. Hats off the Chamber for doing their part.
