Interesting statistics about the Philippines: >There are approximately 2 million orphans in the Philippines. >There are roughly 15 orphans per square mile in the Philippines. >The population of the Philippines is more than 100,000,000 (July 2011 estimate). >Percentage of population living below $1.25 a day 23% (1992-2007 study). >The Philippines is considered the “text capital of the world”. (for some reason that just grabbed my attention) >The Filipino children that NHFC has identified for the Summer need host families urgently! This is our newest country and the children are loving and well cared for in Catholic Christian private orphanages. They typically speak and understand a good bit of English. Our biggest problem in finding families is we are not allowed to post any aspect of a photo and this is how most children are identified and matched.
