International travel is at times the art of overcoming things that just haven’t gone quite right. Here we are on the second day of the #SkyTeamRTW adventure and already we’ve encountered the following 1) A bank card PIN not working at credit card processing machines, only ATM machines. 2) What should have been a 16 hour stay in Sydney being ticketed as three days in Sydney 3) A reservations PNR (Passenger Name Record, or record locator) being marked as cancelled 4) … and … rain (OK, rain is out of anyone’s control) After 30 minutes of international calls to the bank, an ATM was tried and the card worked just fine, so we’ll travel on cash here in Sydney. The reservation error, the PNR was located and a standby issued for tonight … what’s the word? We spend three days enjoying Sydney. The rain … well, it is a good thing we travel in waterproof boots.
