Interns demand payment for their experience & Min wage is being - TopicsExpress

Interns demand payment for their experience & Min wage is being raised to $10.10 in some states. This generation has no respect for the process.. As an intern you gain invaluable experience- if they wanted to hire & pay someone to do the job, they would hire and pay someone with EXPERIENCE, not your fresh-from-college-no-real-world-experience self.. Re: minimum wage- no, $8 an hour is not enough to support your family of four and it should never be. A minimum wage job is NOT what one looks to as a career or a means of supporting a family. Dont keep popping out kids if you know you plan on working in fast food the rest of your life-unless you plan on working your way up the chain. People say they cant live on $8 an hour, but I bet we still have cell phones, xboxes, black friday madness, etc, etc on that same $8 an hour. Spare me. I made min wage at my first two jobs and got promoted within months of hire because of my performance over employees who had been there years-decades, actually. No formal training, no college degree. so spare me the not everyone is meant for college speech. You can work your a** of at McDonalds and one day own a franchise- no education needed. Im so annoyed by peoples sense of entitlement. You dont deserve anything (financially speaking) you have to earn it. When people start getting laid off and the dollar menu is no more , dont say I didnt warn you lol..
