Invitation to keep the Feast of Tabernacles presupposes we come - TopicsExpress

Invitation to keep the Feast of Tabernacles presupposes we come also to Rosh Hashannah and Day of Atonement Thank you Lorenzo Scott for directing me to this for study and meditation... The invitation in Zechariah 14 for the nations to come up to Jerusalem to keep the feast of tabernacles is certainly also an invitation to come to participate in the services of the day of atonement and be clean before the Lord forever - which is what makes the feast of booths such a joyous occasion. It is much like Christs invitation to the multitudes in the highways and hedges to come to the Wedding supper requires also that they not only come but that they be sure to wear the Wedding garment, clean and white (for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints) - else they should be cast out... This is why the prophecy of keeping the feast of tabernacles in Zech. 14 involves rain, because the refreshing comes in connection with the final cleansing and sealing at the close of the Day of At-ONE-ment. If one was to be persuaded to heed the invitation to keep the feast of tabernacles and he had it in His heart to honor the God of Israel, he would certainly not try to show up on the first day of booths but would by all means join the worshipers gathering round the sanctuary afflicting their souls and purging out the old leaven of malice and wickedness... So therefore, let is keep the feast! and recieve the rain, which was warned in Zech. 14 to be withheld from them who do not prepare themselves to participate in the feast of tabernacles...
