† Is It Written? † Then Jesus said to him, Be gone, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve. Matthew 4:10 ESV Growing up in the south, the first time that I read the Bible through I was amazed at what was not in there. I had been told the Bible says this and the Bible says that only to find later that it didn’t. Reading it for myself was liberating. Jesus knew the word of God, He was the word of God (John 1:1). When Jesus had to face satan, His weapon was “It is written”. The Word is our weapon and is only as powerful as your knowledge of the Word. Try to read the Word when you can or listen to it on audio. As the Word soaks into your spirit it will come back to your remembrance later when you need it. If you have never heard it, how can it help you? You have to first know what is written in order to use it.
