Is Winter such a bad time to sell? Since I started selling Real Estate in 2009, the number of sales in Winter have always been lower than the rest of the year, not because there are less buyers looking, but simply because they are considerably less properties on the market. As we roll into winter, many would-be sellers will be holding off on listing their home, waiting for the spring “selling season” to put their home on the market. But if you’re ready to sell your home now, is waiting until spring the best strategy? In fact, if you ask me, strategically Winter is the best time to sell. Let me explain why: - With up to 20% less properties available on the market in the Winter months and the same number of buyers looking, your home will stand out a lot more and will have nowhere near as much competition. More multiple offer situations which results in higher sale prices! - A warm and cosy home in winter is a great selling feature that will make your property a lot more saleable and help you achieve this premium price. - Interest rate remains low for the time being. Why not take advantage of it and sell your home while it is a lot more affordable to borrow money?! Interest rates are tipped to increase towards the end of the year, which mean that buyers will have less money to spend on a property. Nicolas Perez
