Is anyone else out there in MJ fandom suffering aftereffects from MJs 5th anniversary? For me it was harder than ever this year because I wasnt in LA with all the fans... even though I prefer to have more quiet times when I visit Forest Lawn, and focus more on visits to Neverland, where I can feel a greater sense of Michael all around me... but not being at either place or any event just made me feel more melancholy because I could see it all happening via social media. I also learned some important lessons about trying to take part in so many fan organised events - I love to see all these activities organised to honor Michael and his legacy, but its difficult for me to take part in all of them, even the ones largely conducted on-line. So, you can add frustration to mild depression! And then I start reading tweets or posts of disagreements between individual fans or fan groups/clubs and it leaves me with an unpleasant taste in my mouth. I know its human nature and we are all individuals with our own preferred way of remembering or honoring MJ, and it is very easy to lose focus of what is really important about being a fan - at least from my perspective. As a result, I may disengage myself from some of the various MJ projects happening around the world just to give myself a bit of mental space and get back to enjoying the things Michael has left for us to enjoy... music, films, a couple of special books (especially Dancing the Dream) his humanitarian message, and the special friends I have made here and on my travels with little MJ around the globe. I hope therell be many more to come (both friends and Michaeling travels!) Meantime, if you want to get my attention, comment here, or on my personal timeline or send me a PM... or just post a hot pic of Michael from the 90s or 00s and Ill be there!
