Is the Devil Stealing Your Blessings With These Three Most Common Fears? most common fears If you want to know what three most common fears are more than likely stopping you from getting all of your blessings and promises from God that are written in the Holy Bible then keep reading and Ill show you. You may have read the story in Matthew and Luke chapter four about how Jesus was led up by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil after He had fasted for forty days and forty nights. But did you know there are three very important indications surrounding all three of the temptations that the devil tried to get Jesus to give in to? Lets take a look. 1. Worrying About Eating, Drinking Or Clothing. If a person doesnt eat for forty days or nights its probably safe to say that that person was starving. So it makes sense that the first temptation the devil tried to use against Jesus was, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. Now obviously it takes a tremendous amount of faith and passion to go without eating for forty days. Personally, the longest fast I have done is 21 days and Ill tell you, if I hadnt been reading my Bible and meditating in the word of God I wouldnt have been able to do it, and you probably know at least one person who has trouble skipping just one meal. Jesus latter went on to teach in Mathew 6:35; saying Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? He said this because He knew that these kinds of fears can easily be exploited by the devil and are very common fears among most people. Of course not eating or drinking is on the higher end of the spectrum because you could die or get very sick from not eating. But thats not what He meant. Jesus was talking about how worrying about what you will eat or how you will eat can cause you to lose focus on God and lose the blessings that are associated with trusting in Him and building up your faith in His word. Yet some people are vain and worry about wearing designer clothes, being in style and looking like celebrities even to the point of neglecting the needs of their kids and paying bills on time. A bad and costly mistake that will most likely come back to haunt them and make the promises of God null and void for the same reason. I dont know if you noticed but when the devil tried to tempt Jesus one of the things he specifically said was If thou be the Son of God, Which brings us to the second common fear the devil uses to steal blessings from you. 2. Worrying About What Others Think, Say Or Do. The second temptation of the devil after he took Jesus up to the top of the temple was If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Now if Jesus wouldve been the type of person that worried about what other people thought about Him or if He didnt know the word of God He probably wouldve fell to His death trying to prove to the devil that He was the son of God. Fortunately for us He had been in the word of God so heavily that He knew tempting God was not a wise thing to do so He responded with It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. How many times have you allowed yourself to be pressured into doing something you knew was against Gods word simply because someone said something that challenged your man or woman-hood or you did something you wouldnt normally do to get someone to like you. It could even be something that they do or have thats enjoyable and they rub it in your face and make you feel low. Sometimes they do it unknowingly. But the devil knows that worrying about what other people think, say or do will not only steal blessings from you but it could also destroy you. Now watch this. In the devils last two temptation attempts on Jesus he tried to get Jesus to perform some type of miracle threw fear by insinuating that Jesus didnt successfully make his transition into becoming the son of God. Which brings us back to the reason the devil kept saying, If thou be the Son of God and ultimately to the third and final common fear the devil uses to steal blessings from you. 3. Worrying About Money, Power Or Success. The third and final temptation attempt of the devil after taking Jesus up to a high mountain and showing Him the glory of all the kingdoms in the world was, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. Now picture this. Youre Jesus and youve been suffering out in the extremely hot desert all alone by yourself with no food or water and wearing the same dirty clothes without taking a bath or shower for forty days. Now, you could easily accept the devils offer and become the richest, most powerful and successful world ruler in world history! You could eat the best foods, drink the best drinks, wear the finest clothes, have the most friends, servants and people who look up to you, have the most money and best things money can buy! Be more popular, rich, beautiful and famous than your favorite celeb could ever dream about, in fact they would look like a homeless beggar in comparison to you. What would you do? Now answer this. What did Jesus choose to do? He choose to say Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. He later taught in Luke 6:24 saying ...woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. That sounds like a warning against having too much money, power and success if you ask me. But His point was, having too much of these things can prevent you from trusting in God and building up your faith in His word and thus blocking you from receiving His blessings and even stopping you from receiving salvation. Jesus even said in Mattew 19:23 Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. In conclusion, the devil can use any fear against you except for one. That one fear is the fear of the lord which is the instruction of wisdom. Peter 15:33. So read your Bible, build up your faith in Gods word, and use the word of God exactly the way Jesus did to protect yourself from the three most common fears the devil uses to steal blessings from you. May God bless you all with this word today Never lose focus on Him and always understand His word correctly Amen
