Islamic Sunni Jihadist group in the Middle East, ISIS stands for Islamic state of Iraq & Syria, ISIL stands for Islamic State of Iraq & Levant. Levant is also referred to as Syria. Levant Consists of Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine & part of southern Turkey In self-proclaimed status as a Islamic Caliphate, it claims religious authority over all Muslims across the world & aspires to bring much of Muslim-inhabited regions of the world under its political control, beginning with Iraq, Syria and other territory in the Levant region, which includes Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Cyprus and part of southern Turkey. It has been designated as a foreign terrorist organization by US, UK, Australia, Canada, Indonesia & Saudi Arabia, described by UN & Western, Middle Eastern media as a terrorist group. United Nations and Amnesty International have accused the group of grave human rights abuse.
