It blows me away how seemingly confused every one is over these questions and the story is so clear. The cost of living is mostly a cost of producing. It is the cost of getting the raw materials, the energy and the transportation necessary to engineer some product. Once the factory is built its cost is a future time clock that is running down and then out once build costs are amortized after that factory costs are pretty much nill (repair /replace). I saw years ago that if were able to make production hyper efficient by embracing serious and radical building of infrastructure that could support itself in the form of automated and autonomous systems we could eliminate the single largest chunk of cost for making and providing all things. This is what the Self Healing Infrastructure idea Ive been talking about for the last 3 years is all about. Use automation in a specific focused way on the biggest cost centers of production to eliminate rentiers from those exchanges (who are now sapping wealth disproportionately). It is why initiatives by people like Elon Musk on solar and electric cars and Google on self driving cars are so important. They are the infrastructure solutions that can disproportionately reduce production costs for ALL things if they succeed. How would China compete in manufacturing versus the US if we moved to fully autonomous cars and trucks on our roads fueled by solar arrays before they got off gas? Wed be able to bring manufacturing back HERE while charging our workers MORE and still kick their ass for a time as they catch up. The same is true with every single thing that can be produced. Get rid of the production cost centers that have up to now been sunk and all of a sudden value is created. A worker with salary X who lives in a nation where procurement of product 1 - 5 for survival can do so with a fraction of X salary. Standard of living for all would go virtually UP. In my creation of Action Oriented Workflow the need to reveal value in our own personal lives was the major push. Why we except partial payment for our full time despite having multiple areas of competence we can dole out to the world on our schedule was a mystery. AOW allows work actions to flow rather than requiring that people flow from place to place. Many jobs now require people to move but as the SHI elements are constructed people will be more valuable for their cognitive ability than for their physical (the robots will see to that) so having a global and autonomous ROUTING ability for work actions will be critical to allowing human beings to maximize their internal value. I am going to repeat this until I am blue in the face...and I am going to launch a start up built on the framework I designed that implements AOW to prove it. I feel like the boy who cried wolf some times but no matter, more and more people are finally starting to have the scales removed from their eyes. I remain vigilant. https://facebook/notes/david-saintloth/discovering-the-action-landscapea-journey-in-progress/10151790916618057 A rising tide raises all boats. Thats exactly what focusing on self healing infrastructure technologies would do for our economy. Now that said, we still have a bunch of other issues to deal with...cutting military spending being a big one and backing programs there that are also autonomous or automated to accrue the savings there as well. As Ive said before its Calculus not algebra...but so few people took or understood Calculus in school so that explains why this is so hard for people inside and outside of government to understand. sent2null.blogspot/search?q=SHI
