It breaks my heart to say the poor Mum cat we trapped last week living in a garden in Canklow, savaging for food to feed her 3 kittens, we caught Mum first and two days later 2 of her kittens, which we put straight to her but the third kitten took another 3 days to trap......but in the meantime Mum was having none of it and wouldnt let me touch the kittens and hissed and growled at me every time I went near her or them so I made the choice to remove them and send them to a foster home with Nicola Speke and her daughter to care for them and tame them up as they are approx. 5 wks old...........well in the last couple of days she has made a bit of progress and let me stoke her and as expected her boobs are swollen so off to the vets with her this morning as she has mastitis......and to my horror she is 5 weeks pregnant with another litter, she must of been caught pregnant as soon as she gave birth and she is such a thin/frail we cat but the vet and I have made the decision to have her neutered on Tuesday.........it is so sad we have to do this but how can we put this poor cat through it again and knowing how over populated we are with cats at the moment........this job of being a volunteer is soul destroying at times...it really is.......but must say thank you to the kind people in Canklow who fed her and searched their gardens for the remaining kitten and too a blind man who offered a reward if they were found and also to Nicola for fostering the kitten and to everyone who supports RRR so we can continue to do want we can to try and help the situation x
