It costs around £385.000 a day to run the R.N.L.I. all of which is generously donated by people like you. This might sound a lot, but we think the 22 people (on average) rescued a day are worth it. In the 1960s the Kapok Life Jacket cost a few pounds, in comparison to 2014 when a Life Jacket for the all-weather lifeboat crew costs £350.
