It has been a bittersweet week, filled with laughter, tears and special moments. God has used this time to put amazing people in our path - a man who swam 10 blocks to safety during Hurricane Katrina, who encouraged us to be happy and grateful no matter what we are facing because someone else is suffering more; a nurse who saw a patient diagnosed with lung cancer given six months to live, who chose to forego treatment and instead pray for Gods will, and is now cancer-free; a woman at the hospital elevator who saw my tears and told me the story of her daughter, who had gone through four open-heart surgeries since the age of 10. I do not know what is to come, but I do know this past week has been a blessing, and I would not trade it for the world.
