It has recently come to my attention that I may have lost a few supporters because of my stance on Gender Neutral bathrooms, because the idea of these bathrooms on campus make those people feel uncomfortable. To that I am saddened and respond that we live in a world so prejudice to those who are normal that it makes many many people uncomfortable. Furthermore, to me Gender Neutral bathrooms is an issue of accessibility to education. The Jesuits were founded in a time when only the rich were educated and they sought to make education as accessible to as many types of people as possible, not just the rich. If we, as a Jesuit institution, arent willing to make our campus accessible to all types of people, it seems we may have lost touch with our roots. I may lose more votes because of this post, but that saddens me as well, and I will continue to say what I believe.
