It is discouraging and disheartening to read in the book of Revelation of so much judgment, especially when all that was at stake was the right to rule oneself rather than trusting God as the rightful ruler. Yet Satan insisted on autonomy and took a multitude of angels and humans along with him in his rebellion. The result was all the catastrophic pain and suffering we read about in Revelation and see in the world and in our own lives today. When the enemy has been defeated, his deceptions exposed and his evil agenda undone, Gods people are freed to experience nothing but love and peace and joy forever.
