It is interesting this social media thing. If all we had was the nightly news like back in the 80s, they would have announced Robin Williams died, maybe had a 3 minute tribute to his life then we all would have said, that sucks he was a funny guy, and it would be over. But in social media where everyone is fake, we all have to pretend he was our best friend and feign how hurt and devastated we are by his passing, we will analyze his obvious mental state that caused him to hang himself, look at the complexity of Hollywood and all its excesses, seek someone or something to blame and for 2 weeks all we will see is Robin Williams stuff then like Paul Walker we will move on, satisfied we have shown everyone on FB that we are concerned and caring members of this artificial community. I do not post this to demean or diminish Robin Williams or his career, I enjoyed his humor and works. Just a observation on social media. God be with his family at this time of loss.
