It is interesting to be of an age where the western cultural illness of youth obsession becomes potentially more personal. Ive almost always sensed that what I most valued and enjoyed in myself was at best irrelevant to the culture at large, but how clarifying it can be to discover how others relate to my age and movement toward elderhood. I am noticing how as a sensitive and as a woman my conditioning has trained me to carry the shame of others, as if their limitations were mine. Strange twist! Its beautiful to unburden myself of that, to see the lie in it. And to claim for myself a celebratory relationship with feminine and masculine archetypes that predate the imprinted constructs that have deranged humanity. Aging is helping me to do that. To let others carry their own shame and light and walk in my world as I feel myself without consulting the diseased aspect of the group mind.
