It is pertinent to ask the Governor of Ogun State, Senator - TopicsExpress

It is pertinent to ask the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun (fca) the amount of jobs he has created and as well tell us the number of jobs he has destroyed. We may wish to recall that the promise he made with Ogun State people on the journey to Oke-Mosan was to create 10,000 jobs but unfortunately with his ill pursued agenda on urban renewal, an initiative that has made Ogun State so indebted in the tune of billions of naira without any expected returns on the so called infrastructure development, an estimated 10,000 jobs directly and 25,000 jobs indirectly (i.e dependants) have been destroyed. Today less than 4000 or less low cadre officers have been employed into the over bloated civil service and the demolition is having adverse effect on the economic activities of the state. You may wish to note that an estimated 70% of the jobs lost belong to the cottage industries, I mean the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Now, let us do simple calculation here, if 10,000 sources of livelihood are destroyed because of the urban expansion, and billions of naira are wasted on roads that has near zero return on investment, can we call that true development? A situation where we borrow money to finance infrastructure deficit in places of little or no significant area and moreso, the contracts for such road construction are so over bloated with repayment options for the loans, so expensive with the negotiated (arranged) interest rates is totally unacceptable. The policies and programs of Sentaor Ibikunle Amosun lacks clear direction and the demerits far outweighs the merits. 2015 presents another opportunity to fine tune our faith. We need a government with human face. We must vote SIA out! Signed, Otunba Sanusi Adeniyi(OSA) via Otunba Sanusi Adeniyi wall post
