It is time for the British people, and the world in general, to realize that the greatest theft and depredation of art, was that of the Parthenon Marbles by Lord Elgin. A lot of us dont realize that Elgin was such an amateur, that he literally ripped apart one of the greatest monuments the human mind has created causing the majority of its destruction while helping himself to whatever he thought it was valuable. The fact remains that the Greeks (under occupation at the time), did not sell them to him - The Sultan of Constantinople did. It is the same as if I walked in to your house and bought your jewelry from a thief who broke in to it a few hours earlier. The New Museum of the Acropolis is one of the greatest Museums in the world. Theres an empty space there waiting for their return. SEND THEM BACK
