It seems to me that if you want to get the floating plastic crap out of the oceans you should convert an oil tanker to let debris in the front, let the water back out through screens, and then chop up the solids into bitty pieces that would be collected by the ship, and brought back to land for recycle? Too simple an idea? The tankers are certainly large enough to hold a lot of debris and people to do the job. Just a thought.
