It takes two to dance but Obama should do as did all presidents before him, sit down in good faith and negotiate the differences between them. Since 1973 there has been many shut downs 15 by democrats 3 by republicans and a good number of them where tied into budgeting issues. All were resolved by the president negotiating with the objecting party. Will Obama negotiate, that is the question to ask. Will his pride force the USA into default?
