It was a cold and LATE night at Potomac speedway... The car count was low but racing was HOT... The night saw Mike Boer pick up his first win of the 2013 season... The LLM had a little trouble making consecutive laps around the high banks... Our feature did not roll out until 1am... Heat race line up was as follows. Steven Cox, Mike Boer, Bill Laughman, Jim Still, Brent Bull, Eric Heath, Brandon McMillion... McMillions first ever time in a micro sprint saw him get some seat time... Cox jumped out to an early lead in the heat with Boer in tow, Still showed Boer his right front early but Boer quickly set sail for Cox who jumped out to a 4 car lead. As Laughman pulled in with engine trouble early no cautions flew the entire heat race. Boer jumped to the low side of Cox and Boer made unintentional contact with Coxs left front. Both were able to continue. Boer, Cox, Still, Heath, Bull, McMillion. Feature line up with put the #58 and 22 on the second row with 1B pole sitter and 20H of Heath outside pole. The green flew and 4 wide down the roomy front stretch the cars went. Cox glued to the bottom came out on top with Heath and Boer running high wide and handsome... Heath jumped into 2nd with Boer in tow. Boer passed Heath in turn 3 & 4 on the high side and set sail for Cox who was out to a 5 car advantage. Boer settled in behind Cox. On the rough track you had to pick you spots. Boer lined up Cox and passed him on the low side. The caution would fly the only time in the 15 lap feature for McMillion who had chain issues. On the restart Cox who is a restart master pulled along side Boer going into 1 & 2 but the low side accumulated some moisture over the evening and was unable to make it stick. To the checkers was Boer, Cox, Still, Bull, Heath, McMillion, electrical issues plagued the 2 of Laughman all night and he was unable to make the feature. Payouts were 1. Boer $350.00 ($50.00 from Mark Elksnis of MRE Racing for the heat race win $100.00 from Scott Ertters L5S1 company) 2. Cox $225.00 ($75.00 from L5S1) 3. Still $150.00 4. Bull $100.00 5. Heath $75.00 6. McMillion $75.00... Thank you Scott Ertter and the entire L5S1 tactical crew for your continued sponsorship of the Mason Dixon 270s...
