Its Cold outside ANC Hadly 3 month after they left ANC to launch EFF now AGANG AGANG SA has been boosted by the arrival of as many as 200 new members from EFF. Among those who were at Agang’s head office in Braamfontein, Joburg, yesterday are former EFF Gauteng provincial organiser Pule Matshitshe and provincial co-ordinator Nozi Poswayo. They said they had joined Agang because the party’s policies and the direction it had taken suited what many South Africans wanted. They accuse the EFF leadership of lacking proper direction on how it would implement some of its policies. “The EFF believes in land appropriation without compensation and nationalisation of strategic economic sectors like banks and mines,” Poswayo said. “When you say you want to take land without compensating people, you are waging war and saying South Africa is a lawless country and for us, that is not on.” Matshitshe said their departure from the EFF was based on policies and the fighting over power as well as lack of direction. “We do not want to dwell much on why we left but there are people who are power hungry. Discipline and clear leadership are lacking,” Matshitshe said. The members refused to say if their defection to Agang spells trouble for their former political party. Agang political director Moeletsi Mosola said the party would go all out to win more votes in next year’s elections.
