Its a dangerous job we do especially in the winter Ive said it once Ill say it again: every winter my driving career is at risk and of course when Im looking down at somebody text messaging knowing the whole time that Im sitting on top of 300 gallons of fuel this thing is close to 80,000 pounds when its fully loaded it takes almost two and a half football field to bring it to a stop think about that for a second especially in the winter when its raining Im driving an 8 foot piece of machinery with a hinge in it its a dangerous job we do trying to come home safe and also trying to keep people around us alive and lastly we dont run alongside each other just to hold up traffic these trucks are governed at a certain speed once you reach that speed your gas pedal washes out and you have no more it takes a little time to pass another truck oh and one other thing these trucks have mirrors on both sides but believe it or not we cant see everything try to never pass a truck on the right side in our business we say left side passing side right side suicide think of it this way youre running on the passenger side of my truck right by my door I cant see you if you wanna stay alive and be safe out here make sure the truck can see you and well just keep on hauling and keep all the stores full of clothes and food and other things that you folks like to go out and buy and remember if you have it if you bought it if youre wearing it a truck brought it to you
