Its about 2:22 a.m. And I just got home from the hospital with dad. Mother is trying to get some rest and my brother Bryan is going to spend the night at the hospital tonight with dad so as not to be left alone at this time. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for our family. We have had to make some very difficult decisions tonight that I would not wish on anyone. When youre called upon to produce strength that you did not know that you had to use it when you most needed still does not make it easy in the least. This is a hard pill to swallow and seeing my dad like this is very hard for me since I have actually worked with my dad pretty much on a day to day basis since 1992 and also at other businesses with him that he has had in the past from Century 21 Real Estate , Western Steer Steak House , Better Homes Inc and Bubbas barbecue in Belmont. My dad has loved his position as chairman of the Gaston County Planning Board and also as serving in the past as deacon and an integral part at Parkwood Baptist Church in Gastonia. My brother and I had some private time with Dad tonight before I left to come to the house and he has expressed his wishes and is ready to leave when God sees fit. We know that he is right in his heart and will be able to rejoice and join those in his family who have passed before him namely his sister , nephew , his parents and grandparents and others . Again thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding and you dont know how much I personally appreciate each and every comment that you have written your emails and your text messages and phone calls .
