Its almost time to have that discussion. In Liberia where most boys are circumcised before they leave the hospitals, it is now becoming evident, FROM READING, that in other countries the practice is gradually going away. But, have we ever thought why boys are circumcised? Is it a defect or is it that boys cannot be taught how to wash properly? Why is there a lot of talk about female genital mutilation but not about male genital mutilation? I can tell you why. FGM is traditionally third world while MGM originates from the first world. So, if they like it like that, its fine. Meanwhile, FGM is the worst thing to do to a woman, take out her parts, like the foreskin of a male penis is not a part of his body. I pity all those boys, now men, who had no say in whether they wanted to be circumcised or not.
