Its been a long road to recovery for Kim. Her hip started hurting - TopicsExpress

Its been a long road to recovery for Kim. Her hip started hurting over a month ago and it got to a point she could hardly walk or even get comfortable. Thinking it would go away if she took it easy, instead, she started seeing blood in the urine. Thats when its time to see a doctor. It turns out that hip pain can be an indication of a UTI, and/or the 7 kidney stones found from a CT scan... A few antibiotics and other meds later, the blood starts to clear but the overall pain and discomfort continues. The hip pain had stopped rather abruptly after an injection but has since returned. Its been a week on medication but the pain and discomfort hasnt stop. The professionals prescribed a minimal amount of medication for the pain, which after following the prescribed dosage, was gone within a day. Requesting a refill now requires an additional doctors visit! So why would they require another visit just to get a refill on pain medication?! They already know she has 7 stones! Each day I get more disgusted with lawmakers and medical practices. Clearly they are MORE focused on making a profit than treating the patient. We have a system that is influenced more by the addicts and abusers than the legitimate sufferers. Recently changing the classification for pain medication and requiring patients to travel just to pick up a prescription, (when they used to simply phone in the refills to the pharmacy), has put additional burdens on the patient in time and money (and more discomfort). It has to be worse for the elderly and those with serious mobile disabilities (but certainly better for the system and their margins). Having medical insurance would not solve any of these issues, but thats a whole other disgusting topic! [Interestingly, there was report last night (from a Doctor) about how professionals are causing 43% more harm to woman having babies in hospitals opposed to having the delivery at home.] I assume the lawmakers and professionals are immune and can sleep at night, while my sweetheart cannot~
