Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas ...🎅 (Louise) Eltham Lights Up on Eltham High Street Date: 20 November 2014 Location: Eltham town centre Time: 4:00pm - 7:30pm Cost: Free Join the Mad Hatter and friends for a gigantic tea party extravaganza to celebrate 15 years of the popular winter festival. Between 4pm and 6pm, get into the party spirit by making your own hat with the mad hatters, enjoy the antics of street performers and local talent on the stage next to St Marys Community Centre and at Passey Place. You can also decorate the gigantic Eltham Lights Up anniversary cake with your special memories of past Eltham Lights Up events Enjoy a range of offers and festive treats at local shops, cafes and restaurants and support your local hospices by visiting their stalls at Passey Place, where youll find a selection of Christmas gifts and novelty items At 5pm, come and see the lighting up of the Eltham Centre Christmas tree At 6pm the parade begins. Watch hundreds of children and their families parade down the High Street with their colourful lanterns, samba band and spectacular carnival floats Several shops will be staying open late, including Marks and Spencer and Debenhams (open till 8pm) and Peacocks and Sports Direct (open till 7pm) Road closures and bus diversions Eltham High Street will be closed to traffic between 4pm and 8pm. Bus diversions will also be in place - information will be available at bus stops at Court Yard, Well Hall Road and Footscray Road.
