Its so hard to say something about Broadway Bares that hasnt already been expressed or re-tweeted ad nauseum. But something that Jerry Mitchell said in one of his inspiring pre-show talks to the company stuck with me: This will outlive us all. And that is true on many levels. Yes, the show itself has gone on for 24 years now and will continue to grow and adapt. But I thought about the money itself. The money raised will outlive us. It will go out into the world and help people who really need it; enriching and often times lengthening those peoples lives. Providing food, services, comfort. This is why we all come together and that, for me, is the best reason to share my time and talent on stage. And because of all of that, I often find it difficult to adequately thank everyone who donates, buys a ticket, or supports Bares in any way. So anyone that I do thank, even if it was just for saying, Break a leg! know that my gratitude is inexpressible. The final ROCKSTARS who put me at my $1500 fundraising goal are as follows: John OMalley who I will genuinely miss catcalling me from the extreme front row, Mark Boom Boom Akens who always keep me laughing donating in memory of a friend, Matthew Ravey who is as generous as he is cute, Jessica Goldman who Ive known since 1st grade!!, two angels from the Interplayers Theater in Spokane, WA Jamie Sciarrio and Denise Olson whose long distance donations and friendship truly touch me, Tara Callahan Carroll who wowed me with her talents in college continuing to wow me with her talent as a mom of two adorable little ones, Seán Linehan my favorite Snapchatter and future PTown hair holder, the always charming and clever Buddy Hammonds adding generous to an already lengthy list of wonderful attributes, and dear loves Nathan McGaughey and Luke Hogan who stuffed my virtual g-string as well as my actual one at the show! $1.3 million happens one dollar at a time and you all made that happen.
