It’s true! Once beaten, twice shy! One of my friends even says - TopicsExpress

It’s true! Once beaten, twice shy! One of my friends even says “once beaten, always shy!” Yeah! Why should anyone dull a second time? And this is applicable to several life issues including (if not especially) relationships & friendships! Haven put all your eggs in one basket, thinking you have met the one, then almost suddenly, somehow, things go downhill and the whole sweetness turns sour, and then you declare “alright, I am done!”, “Enough is enough!”. Thereafter and consequently you just, kind of, close your heart to love! You don’t want to take chances anymore! It’s okay but… I remember the man named David! Yeah, that great king from whose lineage Jesus Christ was brought forth! I remember David and the story of the ark of God! How one Uzzah (who wasn’t a Levite) put forth his hand to hold the ark from falling during transit! Sadly, he succeeded in keeping the ark from falling off the oxen, but didn’t succeed in keeping himself from falling dead to the ground afterwards! He disobeyed the rules concerning the keeping of the ark! He violated the principles and procedures required! Consequently, David, out of fear, rather than take the ark of God to where it belonged and to the destination intended, got fed up! He declared “Okay, I am done!” So he quietly and quickly arranged for the ark to be kept, instead, at a place belonging to a certain man named Obededom! David must have been like, “Emi ke! This Ark of God in David’s City? No Way!” Smart guy! Wasn’t he? Guess what? God blessed Obededom afterwards! The kind of blessing that literally caused “Breaking News!” For the three months the ark stayed with Obededom, his life was transformed for good forever! And his name entered the Holy Scriptures for all generations to read! Wow! How one man’s calamity can result into another man’s prosperity! Such is life! Yeah! You are gradually getting my point! No! You can’t miss it! Those were the blessings, meant for David (and by extension, the entire Nation of Israel) had the ark been with him! Thank God he later sent and recovered the ark after realizing how wrong he was! And this time, he ensured that due process was followed! Well, who wouldn’t? The Uzzah guy died, not for the Ark, but for lack of compliance with the relevant principles that applied to the Ark! Hello brother! Hello sister! Ladies and gentlemen, you have quit trying rather too soon! The reason that relationship failed (or isn’t working out), is not necessarily because that lady/guy was (is) bad, but you (or both of you) flunked the relevant principles! For instance, the test of time wasn’t allowed to take its due course! Everything went on a deadly express speed! No patience! And that is just one of the several other applicable rules! So, beloveth, don’t because you have messed up once, or because the partner in question was (is) a ‘baaaaad’ one, shut yourself up and close your heart to the blessings of love! Two will always be better than one! Only make sure that you start applying the right knowledge! That is wisdom! #LoveAgain #RiseAgain #HopeAgain #DoItRight
