Ive been getting bombarded with photo requests for various Detroit photo subjects. I enjoy posting the photos that I have found on the many public domains scatter throughout the internet world, primarily those items that I remember and/or find interesting regarding Detroit. Please be advised that I cannot locate a picture of your Aunt Edna hanging laundry in the backyard of her home on South Street during 1946. Some of the requests that I am receiving for photos are pretty funny and ridiculous. Some people believe that anything and everything is available on the internet. It is not! I have found these photos using a variety of search techniques. Its a matter of using specific key search words to narrow down the results using the many free search engines available on the net. All of the photographs I have found and posted to this group have been located on the internet. Most all of them (99.5%) have no identification or information as to the creator or origin of the photo. Therefore, its impossible to give credit to the creator. In the event someone should challenge you regarding copyrighted material, the most they can do is ask you to remove the photo and/or ask that the photo bears credit of the creator. The FBI swat team will not show up at your door to arrest you for unknowingly posting a photo in which someone has claimed intellectual ownership. Of course I am making reference to items that are posted for non profit. It takes a great degree of time, and more importantly patience, in attempting to find specific subjects on the net. I encourage those interested to take the time to do their own searches. It can be rewarding when you locate that gem buried somewhere in the net. I would like to publicly thank Daryl and his delegated others for creating and maintaining this site. It has brought me a tremendous amount of joy and memories. I would also like to thank other members of this group who have also posted great information and photos relating to Detroit. You all are a great bunch of folks whom I consider my Detroit family.
