Ive been in a reading mood, so I decided to re-read George Barrs Take Your Photography To The Next Level. Right in the introduction is some great advice, I strongly believe that before you pay attention to any advice I might have, you need to satisfy yourself that here is a photographer who makes images worth looking at. Its possible to teach without actually doing, but most good teachers are good doers as well. That made me think of the photography classes and workshops Ive taken, would like to take, and would like to offer this year. There are a ton of classes being offered in the area but it is really hard to decide if they are worth the time and money when the instructor doesnt have any work to view anywhere. At least with me, what you see is what you get, here on Facebook, on Flickr, on Capture My Chicago, and on Chicagoist to name a few. Please keep this in mind as you decide what classes youd like to take this year.
