Ive been staying with Croatian travel blogger, Skinny chick travelling (Pamela) and her two roommates in Zagreb, Croatia for the past 8 days. They have been extremely welcoming and generous. I feel quite lucky to have this opportunity to soak up the Croatian culture and get away from the hostel scene. Today I went to a rock climbing gym with Pamelas roommate, Darko and his friend. We scaled the walls until our arms shook, then went for a beer... We got into a discussion on education and how Croatians have federally funded universities, available free to all citizens. I told them how lucky I thought they were and explained how most of my friends have large amounts of students debt, which they will be fighting to pay off for decades. Many of my friends have dreams to travel the world, yet are held back by student loans. They explained how they have trouble finding enough work, so they too are in debt. Funny world we live in... Just some insight into my day, definitely not trying have a political debate here ;)
