Ive been thinking a lot about the horse auction today and Ive read posts about all the rallying that was done to save them. I know we cant save all the horses and I dont believe we should try. What bothers me the most, is that there are so many good horses out there that are healthy and able to be ridden and have proven to be great partners but because of economics, owner illness or death, they have found themselves in need of a new home. I know of 30 horses whose owner passed away and I havent seen any rallying to find those horses good homes. Maybe its not truly about the horse, but more about the ego. If its not cute or pretty or has color, it doesnt get the same attention. Do these other horses have to wait until they are suffering and are seized to get the same concern? We must face the fact that there are TOO MANY horses and not enough good homes. Whats the solution???????????
