Ive finally recovered enough to post our day 3 in DC. Started off in line for the capitol tour, but a bathroom emergency derailed that. Went instead to the Air and Space museum on the mall (since he had enjoyed the one in Virginia so much) and then a stroll down the mall, through the sculpture garden to the American History museum. On our way out we visited Lincoln one more time in the daylight and then drove over to Theodore Roosevelt Island (TR is his very favorite and the one thing he insisted we not miss). Here are my takeaway tips: 1. Poop at the hotel. 2. Take the good camera, even if it weighs more. 3. Double check the rental car before you leave it so you dont end up crying all the way home over a stuffed animal.
