Ive just checked! I havent quite got webbed feet, although if I had I wouldnt be at all surprised! Yes, we saw quite a bit of rain in Derbyshire today for my third annual visit to Tibshelf Carnival. It started raining at the precise moment the parade set off on its journey of almost two miles to the Parish Playing Field shortly before noon, and it carried on raining until after 2pm. It was a good parade as well, although we covered the ground a lot quicker than usual, and there were times when I was almost jogging to keep up - and when you are juggling thats not easy to do! We crossed the M1 (on a flyover) and I couldnt help thinking we might have been a bit of a distraction to the drivers whizzing by beneath our feet, but I didnt hear that there had been any sort of pile-up on the motorway at the time, so it must have been okay. It did turn hot and sunny later in the day, but I am afraid the crowds were a lot more sparse than usual, and a lot of the arena attractions couldnt take place because of the conditions. Nice to see a lot of familiar faces at Tibshelf, and I am looking forward to my next visit to Derbyshire in October.
