Ive just read how the Coachella Valley High School. in California, is under fire because their mascot is an Arab. Personally, I have had my fill of all the complaining! I think it began in 1995, when the American Indians complained about the World Series, between the Indians and the Braves. This is not only childish, but also a waste of time!! (Of course, it provides fodder to fill news space, so the media loves it and pushes it to continue). Lets look at it like this: When citizens in the Middle East want to burn Ol Glory, nobody says a thing. However, should someone, in America, burn the Iraqi flag (or, better yet, burn the Talmud), the whole world is up in arms. The same thing happened, at the end of the first Gulf War, when the lone American female POW reported having been raped and the world said NOTHING. Then, when the Taliban POWs, in Guantanamo Bay, were photographed, half-naked, the world wanted America punished. Some people wont like my saying this, but this goes hand-in-hand, with my feeling that this is America and if you werent born here, you dont have a right to demand that I learn to speak your native tongue! So, if you cannot speak English, dont expect me to bend over backwards, in an attempt to satisfy your desire to talk with me!
