Ive never understood those social experiment videos. The ones - TopicsExpress

Ive never understood those social experiment videos. The ones about bullying and how someone is pretending to be the bully and the other person pretends to be bullied. Never understood the true meaning of actual bullying. Unfortunately today I was put in a position where I was yelled at, disrespected and humiliated in front of many people I know for no reason. I was the victim, the person who disrespected me was the bully, and the people who were watching were witnesses. Witnesses. Its like they were watching a movie. Its pretty pathetic too. Those witnesses couldve been defenders but instead they chose to be a controlled audience. Applauding when they need to and staying quiet when the scene is too intense. Let me tell you something, Ive never been bullied until today, so I never knew how much it sucks to feel offended to this extent. But what was worse was seeing everyone standing there and watching. Someone couldve easily spoken up and said dont talk to her that way or calm down stop being mean or I dont know what else. Someone couldve been a hero but they were too afraid to fight for whats right. But you know whats crazy? The fact that this is how the Palestinians feel everyday. Theyre being disrespected, bullied, kicked out of their own land, tortured, massacred and murdered, while we (the audience) are just watching. Im telling you, if someone spoke up for me in that moment, I wouldve cried of joy, to see or feel that someone actually cared enough to stand up for me and not be a coward. Giving a blind eye wont make anything better, so what are we doing? Cant we at least make the effort to defend our brothers and sisters in Palestine? You dont have to be palestinian to defend them. You dont have to be Muslim. You dont have to be Christian. You dont have to be arab. You dont have to be anything. If youre human, you would follow your gut and do what is right. Defend the Palestinians. Go to a protest, donate, write a letter to a palestinian schools students to show them we support them. The littlest things mean the world to them. I was so disappointed in all the people who were watching me get yelled at today for not doing anything. If someone defended me, Im pretty sure that person wouldve stopped yelling at me. If we have enough willpower and people to fight back, we can make the chaos stop. I really do believe we can make this crazy world we live in a better place if we aim for better and speak up. We are the voice. Were the only ones who can be heard. Dont let anyone put tape over your mouth no matter how authoritative they are. You control what you say and you have every damn right to say it. Speak up for Gaza. Speak up for Syria. Speak up for Burma and Iraq and Pakistan and all the suffering countries. Speak up for the boy at school who gets made fun of. Speak up for the girl whos judged too quickly. SPEAK UP! You can only raise a better generation by setting yourselves as good examples. So speak up. #SpeakUpForGaza
