Ive talked to my friends a lot about the future and the idea of copying your brains memories onto a hard drive before death in order to come back as a robot; this short (with Pee-wee Herman in it!) is a good look into what might be. Worth the watch, it plays out almost exactly like a Lovecraft story. So if this technology were to become reality, and you were able to comeback, would people view you as a separate entity of your former self, or just a bunch of code? I believe since were all just pretty much walking pooping organic computers. The data stored in your head, your consciousness even, is just a bunch of electricity firing off of neurons, much like a computer. If you could be brought back after your body is dead, you wouldnt be a robot (I mean, yes sorta) but all the data in that squishy hard drive in your head could just be copy pasted into another hard drive and recreate all that makes you, you. If your memory were to be activated in another form while you were still alive tho, would your two consciousnesses freak out? I dunno, seems all too much for me right now.
