JANUARY WEEK OF CONSECREATION DAY 5 TOPIC : THE CONDITION FOR BLESSING TEXT : DEUTERONOMY 28 : 1 – 2 1. And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. Deuteronomy 28 : 1 – 2 The Love of God is unconditional but the blessings of God are conditional. God loves us just the way we are, whether we are sinners or righteous people, he loves us equally that’s why he sent his son to die for a sinful world. God hasn’t place any conditions for his love and we practically have to do nothing to earn his love but if we want to move from the place of Love to the place of Blessing, we must understand that there is a condition. As much as God loves us unconditionally, he will only bless us based on a condition. Our text states a profound condition for receiving divine blessing. “if thou will diligently hearken unto the Lord thy God”, that is the secret, that is the condition, if thou will diligently OBEY the lord thy God. A lot of people in the church of Christ today find it very difficult to obey the voice of God and that is one of the reason we are not seeing that realm of abundance that the men who walked with God in the bible had. These men were obedience to a fault; they were practically living and moving based on what they heard from God. They had undisputed loyalty to God and this made them walk in a realm o supernatural abundance to the extent that they were having as much as 300 bodyguards. The issue of obedience cannot be over emphasized in the church and no matter what we do or say, if we want to see the blessings of God so strong on our generation, we must get people who will diligently obey the Lord and to give him half baked services. 19. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. Isaiah 1 : 19 – 20 God spoke through the prophet Isaiah and gave us the secret to kingdom prosperity. I believe that you don’t need to travel outside the country to make it in Life. The land where you are situated has a lot of good things in it and the key to unlocking this great blessing is OBEDIENCE. Isaiah said emphatically, if you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the Land. This reminds me of the story of Isaac during the famine and he wanted to go to Egypt but God stopped him and asked him to dwell in the land. He sowed in the land and where others had said there was no hope of a harvest, Isaac had abundant harvest. The secret was obedience. A lot o people in the bible lost their promise because of disobedience. In fact the first Sin that was recorded in the bible was the sin of disobedience. The bible likened disobedience to the sin of witchcraft. Adam and Eve lst their paradise because of disobedience, Saul lost his kingdom because of disobedience, Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt because of disobedience and the list keeps going on and on. For the church of Christ to experience the miracles of God again in or dispensation, for us to get to the realm of abundance and walk in unprecedented blessings, for us to discover and enjoy the good of the Land where we are situated, we must begin back the spirit of Obedience. Scripture Reading Deuteronomy 28 1st Samuel 15 Prayer Topics Oh Lord, kill every spirit of disobedience in my life, help me to trust and obey all your directions Oh Lord, every good in the Land I dwell in, as I obey you, may I begin to enjoy it.
