JESUS AT THE CENTRE ..... There is an amazing song by Israel Houghton and new Breed called Jesus at the centre of it all. Its also one of my favourites because it captures the importance of Jesus and the Kingdom of God being at the heart of everything we do. As my faith has grown and my relationship with the Lord strengthened, I have come to understand that its not enough to be a sunday believer - this means going to church on Sunday, lifting my hands in worship and prayer and then putting Jesus aside till I go back the following week apart from hurried prayers at night and in the morning. Being a believer means willingly letting Jesus into every thought, every action, every part of my day! I realised that He was with me all the time. That is His promise, that He and His Father would make their home with me permanently. (John 14:23) Knowing this began to change and transform what I did, where I went (would Jesus want to be here) what I watched and listened to (Is this pleasing to Him) How I treated others (What is He thinking as he watches me now). He sees my heart , there is no hiding place, my actions, thoughts, words , deeds are laid bare before Him. I realised as I grew to love Him how much I wanted to please Him, to glorify Him, to be a sweet fragrance before Him...I am not perfect , none of us are and I still make mistakes all the time but I know He knows that I gladly live for Him... its the least I can do...He died for me! I want Him to be at the centre of all I do .....I welcome His scrutiny, sometimes it makes for difficult choices but I would have it no other way! In Luke 13:20 -21 Jesus asks: “What else is the Kingdom of God like? It is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.” (NLT) In the verse before this Jesus says - “What is the Kingdom of God like? How can I illustrate it? It is like a tiny mustard seed that a man planted in a garden; it grows and becomes a tree, and the birds make nests in its branches.” Luke 13:18-19 NLT The common thing in both passages...both act to plant, to put in the yeast! We can choose to plant the Kingdom of God in our lives ...the Holy Spirit does the rest!!! We can choose to invite the Lord into every aspect of our lives...willingly and then watch Him come in and transform us !!! Its been an interesting process identifying those areas in my life that I had kept locked and closed to God and opening each door. I am sure there are still a few doors to open, sometimes shame, stubbornness are the sins that keep them locked but I am working on it knowing that I want Him everywhere in my life, no locked doors, no areas I cant lay bare before Him, no areas where I dont want Him at the very centre! In faith today...choose to plant the kingdom of God in every part of your life and watch it grow into more than you can imagine. Let Jesus be at the centre of everything you do, open every door in your heart and life before Him. If you love Him, then He and His Father live in you. You carry their presence with you wherever you go, whatever you do...be aware of the grace and holiness that lives within you and like yeast let it permeate every part of you!!! It is not a burden...I do not feel restricted or harshly controlled by my love for Christ but rather full of joy and peace and growing self-discipline. His way ...is the very best way!!! Wherever He enters, He makes whole, He heals, He restores!! His way is the only way! I leave you with these wonderful words from Paul in Ephesians 3:20 - Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. NLT Be exceedingly blessed and I pray that His power will be at work in you and all of us today and all the days of our lives that we might do great things in His holy name and know the perfect love he has for us always. In Jesus name. Amen....Happy new month peepz....
