TITLE: Chemistry Stockroom Manager SALARY: $40,000 Annually LOCATION: University of Nebraska, Omaha DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS: The Stockroom Manager oversees operations in two chemistry stockrooms. The position requires knowledge of chemical and laboratory safety, storage & chemical compatibility, learning Chemistry Department class and laboratory operations, as well as managerial tasks associated with hiring and training of new workers, managing multiple works (usually 6 or more per semester) and developing work schedules. The Stockroom Manager is responsible for ordering and maintaining the stock of chemicals and inventory of chemicals, establishing standard operating procedures consistent with regulations, and lab clean-up and maintenance. Frequent communication is required with faculty, staff & students regarding individual and laboratory needs. The lab fee account budget must be managed and recommendations for lab fees done on a yearly basis. The security of chemicals, including those stored in the controlled substance room is very important.
