JRC advocates...Faith needs to be rescued again. The unfortunate - TopicsExpress

JRC advocates...Faith needs to be rescued again. The unfortunate truth of rescue is that not everyone who saves a dog provides a good life the animal. Lately we have seen so many cases of people who put the dog in conditions that are worse than the shelter they came from. Sadly we have another dog that was rescued from Jackson Rabies Control that met a horrible fate. Faith .. A beautiful white pit...had a group of advocates who raised money for an adopter who they thought would use the money they donated to get her spayed and set the path for a wonderful new life. Faith and her litter of 9 new four day old puppies are currently on rabies hold at a West KY vet. She repeatedly bit a 23 month old boy who was trying to get her one day old puppies. The bites were not deep...and it was obvious to the AC and police officers she was just trying to get her babies away from the toddler and reacting to her unsafe living conditioned.nIn all, this person had five female and one intact male Pitt bulls living with the grandchild, parents and grand parents in human and animal filth. One dog delivered a litter Friday and local shelters report multiple litters surrendered over the last year or two. Many of the females have health problems. All of the females except Faith have been reclaimed by the shelters from which they came. Of course Faith cant be reclaimed. A local rescuer, Michelle Fowler, secured a foster for Faith and her babies with a Chicago area rescue organization. But there are bills that have to be paid and expenses to cover before Faith can be rescued...for the last time. It will take at least $300 to pay boarding during the quarantine and for a vet exam for Faith and her puppies, and another $200 to transport her to Northern Illinois. It would be great if we could raise any extra to help the receiving rescue with the expense of puppy shots, and full vetting for Faith...including spaying. Vetting 9 puppies is a burden for small rescues and Faith received none of the vet care volunteers paid for in March. Please send your donations to Michelle at sharmutts_1@yahoo. That is an underscore before the 1. Your donation is tax deductible. Message me if you need a copy of her not for profit letter. I was not one of the group who paid to have Faith rescued from JRC in March. But I was contacted by several of the shelters impacted by this tragedy. While I have met the woman responsible, I am not going to name her publicly. Message me and I will give it to you privately The first photo is of Faith at JRC ...the second on her way to what everyone hoped would be a happy life. If I get current photos I will post them
