JUST ANNOUNCED: Friday 12.09.14 Junior Danger, DEADWEIGHT EXPRESS, Bare White Knuckles, WALKEN. Doors: 7:30pm Door Price: $15.00 Junior Dangers mission to bring back dirty, fuzz-driven rock to the airwaves has stepped up a notch with the release of their debut EP Amputate to Medicate. The thumping drum introduction to lead single Give Me Some More signals the intent of this release, which is packed with sharp hooks, brooding vocals and driving rhythm. The Brisbane-based three piece formed only 12 months ago and exploded onto the scene late in 2013, playing a host of shows around south-east Queensland. This first release marks a clear and powerful direction in the bands ambition to bring raw, driving rock back to the masses. Junior Danger will launch Amputate to Medicate at The Zoo on Friday 12 September alongside a slew of Brisbanes finest rocking local bands. Along for the ride are Deadweight Express, Bare White Knuckles and newcomers Walken. With their own unique collaboration Deadweight Express pay subtle homage to 70’s rock heavyweights. It’s a body of Rock and Roll with blues for blood and grunge for guts. Deadweight Express is what rock and roll should be. Don’t let the numbers fool you; this two-piece can really pack a punch. Bare White Knuckles are a Brisbane based rockin/drinkin/in ya face kinda blues band. Influenced by cool cars, tattoos, film and art, any music that shifts the way you perceive the world, family, friends…. hell, anything that floats our boat from shore to shore. Walken are a two piece Alternative Rock band from Brisbane, Australia formed in March, 2014. Built upon a wall of sound, a bunch of angst, a trippy guitar and a buttload of effects pedals, Walken have no plans on giving your ears a rest with their debut EP coming soon and a second EP already in the works.
